[2021] OCAPI (2)
- Observations de la biodiversité par des CAméras Plus Intelligentes
Biodiversity observations by more intelligent cameras
At a time of development of connected infrastructures, the OCAPI project aims to extend the uses of cameras deployed on existing infrastructures to the management of biodiversity in the vicinity of infrastructures in the context of managing the risks associated with collisions and monitoring the effectiveness of environmental measures. To do this, the OCAPI project will develop algorithms for automatic recognition of medium and large mammals. In a second step, the recognition data will be used to derive abundance indices to support the adaptive management of collision risks and environmental measures.
This project is funded by the FEREC foundation. It is led by Sylvain Moulherat (Terroïko), Jean-Philippe Tarel (IFFSTAR) and Olivier Gimenez (CEFE).
