RENATU
Analysis of Renaturation processes of dense urban contexts in connection with land transport infrastructures: the case of the Metropolis of the Greater Paris.
Keywords : Renaturation, landscapes, biodiversity, urban transport infrastructures
The purpose of the RENATU research project is to understand how, in a dense urban context, the establishment of Linear Transport Infrastructures (LTI) and their rights of way represent a potential of green spaces that contribute to renaturation in cities.
In RENATU, we conduct interviews in order to analyse the policy makers’ expectations and the management practices implemented by LTI operators intended to maintain and increase the presence of green areas or landscapes with interesting biodiversity. We analyse the management methods that facilitate the presence of species richness. Taking into account biodiversity, our research aims to provide results at both patch and connectivity levels. We focus on life traits and ecological functions.
In order to answer the specific and current dynamics of the sustainable city, the objective of RENATU is to take into consideration naturalist issues relating to transport infrastructures in terms of environmental innovation, but also in terms of services to local populations.
