Can the assessment of ecosystem services of green dependencies of ILTe contribute to the adequacy of biodiversity measures with the budget constraints of project promoters and social uses?
Based on a case study to be defined / validated with the members of the CILB (existing ILTe), a diagnosis of the services produced by the ecosystems present in the dependencies of the selected ILTe will be established. The objective here will not necessarily be to provide "values" in the economic sense, but above all to quantify in "biophysical" value the services produced.
To do this, the work carried out as part of the research work carried out by EGIS environnement with LAMETA will be exploited.
On the basis of this diagnosis, we will seek to:
- Enhance the services produced by the green dependencies of ILTe and if possible also highlight value-generating management practices or vice versa;
- To highlight the existence or not of zones of "hot spots" of production of services. Given a certain homogeneity of the ecosystems generally present around the ILTe, it is not obvious that such hot spots stand out;
- In a case of a modernization project for an ILTe, and according to the points described above, it will be sought to show whether this approach leads to guide technical choices;
And finally, we will seek to identify the management, reduction or compensation measures that can be envisaged within ILTe rights-of-way and that generate value in order to rationalize the demand for compensation, in particular vis-à-vis of so-called "ordinary" biodiversity, which includes protected common species. It is in this context that the landscape component will be approached: indeed, landscaping can be source and support of biodiversity and thus support ecological functions and services that can benefit the human community and more specifically, the "neighbors" of an ILTe.
